New Smart Battery Case for iPhone 11 series has dedicated camera button

Smart Battery Case iPhone 11

Apple has just released new Smart Battery Cases for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Resembling the previous battery cases for the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and XS Max, the updated versions have a new trick up its sleeve—a dedicated camera button.

The Smart Battery Case is made of soft touch silicone and an elastomer hinge design that feels great to hold in the hand. It’s also easy to put the case on or take it off. Inside there’s a soft microfibre lining for increased protection.

Like the previous generation, the Smart Battery Case will give your iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max and additional 50 percent more juice.

For the first time, the dual-purpose case now includes a dedicated camera button that instantly launches the Camera app even when the phone is locked. This enables quick photo capture. A long press will allow you to capture a QuickTake video.

The Smart Battery Case can be charged simultaneously with your iPhone via its Lightning port and is also compatible with wireless Qi-certified chargers. The battery status is displayed on the iPhone lock screen as well as in Notification Centre.

Having used the Smart Battery Case on my iPhone XR for a little while now, it’s incredibly handy especially if you’re travelling. With the iPhone XR, I get almost one and a half day of juice.

The only downsides to the case is that it does add a little bit of bulk and can be hefty too.

Pricing and availability

The Smart Battery Cases for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max retail for MYR539 each. They’re available in soft white and black for the iPhone 11, while the iPhone 11 Pro/Pro Max also get a pink sand option.

The cases will hit apple.com/my, Apple Stores and select Apple Authorised Resellers and telcos soon.
