Here’s some good news for TV binge-watchers. Netflix is now offering prepaid gift cards through 7-Eleven stores nationwide. This means you no longer need a credit or debit card to buy a subscription for yourself or as a gift to someone.
Gift cards are not uncommon at 7-Eleven. You’ll find iflix, Spotify, Playstation Network (PSN) and JOOX gift cards being offered, much like its overseas counterparts.
The Netflix gift cards are available in MYR50 and MYR100 denominations. Once purchased, all you need to do is head over to Netflix.com/redeem. Then, either set up a new account or credit it into an existing account.
You can buy as many gift cards and redeem them as you want. You’ll be able to view the available credit balance on your account page.
Once the card balance is used up, simply add another gift card or payment method, and you’re good to go.
Netflix as you may know is based on a monthly subscription. It offers a three-tier membership.
- Basic – MYR33 per month – watch on 1 screen in SD quality
- Standard – MYR42 per month – watch on 2 screens at a time in HD quality
- Premium – MYR51 per month – watch on 4 screens at a time in HD and Ultra HD quality
