LG Electronics Malaysia (“LG”) demonstrated its leadership in the home entertainment and home appliances segments by showcasing a slew of new products at its product showcase event themed “With LG, It’s All Possible” in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The product portfolio was spearheaded by its beautiful 55-inch Curved OLED TV, a world’s first.
The LG Curved OLED TV sets a new benchmark in display technology, demonstrating LG’s superiority in the field. Additionally, LG also introduced its latest Ultra HDTV lineup, its webOS Smart TV platform and a plethora of home appliances.
Immersive next-gen display technology
We first experienced the LG Curved OLED TV at the recent LG InnoFest roadshow in Seoul, and it didn’t stop us from being awe-stricken again this time around.
The Curved OLED TV is a product of the super advanced LG Display factory in Paju, the largest display factory in the world. We had the privilege of visiting the factory during our brief trip there in April.
The reasoning behind a curved display is simple. Perfect immersion into images. This is done by providing an equal distance from all parts of the screen to the human eyes – the same apparent size whether from the center of the screen, or at the sides.
The 55-inch LG Curved OLED TV is only the beginning. And you really have to see it to believe.
4K brings new levels of picture quality
The new LG Ultra HDTVs offer 4K resolution, four times higher resolution than Full HD, and eight times higher than standard HD. The 8.3MP resolution delivers incredibly vivid and crisp pictures. With its innovative feature called Ultra HD Resolution Upscaler, ordinary pictures can be transformed into Ultra HD-like quality.
webOS alive, now in a TV
LG made the right decision to acquire Palm and webOS from HP. The intuitive operating system has now been re-birthed into a Smart TV platform. The fun, intuitive and fluid user interface allows customers to easily set up, search and view content. In our opinion, it is by far the slickest Smart TV UI in the market today.
Smart home solutions, smart appliances
Just as we witnessed in Seoul, LG presented a wide range of home appliances including refridgerators, washing machines, dishwashers, air-conditioning units, air purifiers and vacuum cleaners.
LG refridgerators feature proprietary Inverter Linear Compressor technology which results in lower energy consumption, lower noise levels, higher durability and more precise cooling control.
LG’s 6 Motion Direct Drive in its washing machines enables a TurboWash function for cleaner, more energy-saving washing in front loaders.
Powered by LG’s revolutionary Inverter V technology, LG air-conditioners are as energy-efficient as they come. Too bad they aren’t bringing the mosquito-repelling model, which will only debut in India.
The LG Air Purifier removes odours, decompose allergens and filters bacteria with its 6-step filtration function.
The LG HOM-BOT SQUARE revolutionises home cleaning solutions with its newly designed Corner Master feature for better, more complete cleaning.
No mobile products
Glaringly missing was LG’s mobile portfolio. No, still no LG G Flex. Still no LG G Pro 2. The wait continues.
