IFA 2019: Lenovo showcases smarter 2019 consumer devices

Lenovo IdeaCentre A540 AIO

Ahead of IFA Berlin 2019, one of the world’s largest consumer electronics shows, and Lenovo wasted no time in unveiling its 2019 consumer lineup just in time for the upcoming holiday season. The new lineup rides on Lenovo’s new campaign, encircled around the theme “smarter”; featuring devices equipped with intelligent features that enable better experiences and enhance lives. The latest “smarter” innovations will be showcasing at Tech Life, Lenovo’s annual holiday event during IFA, happening on 5 September 2019.

Smarter portables

As usual, Lenovo has a slew of exciting devices including spanking new notebooks, monitors, tablets, and an all-in-one desktop (that turns heads!).

First up is a pair of ultra-slim workhorses: the Lenovo IdeaPad S340 and S540

Lenovo IdeaPad S340

The two 13-inch Windows 10-powered notebooks come powered with up to 10th Generation Intel Core mobile processors, with up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and up to an NVIDIA GeForce MX250 GPU.

Weighing in at just 1.3kg, the IdeaPad S340 comes in three fun hues, and lasts up to 8 hours on a single charge. It also supports RapidCharge, Lenovo’s fast-charging technology that can give it 80 percent juice in just 60 minutes of charging.

Up a notch is the all-aluminium IdeaPad S540, which comes with a high-resolution QHD display option. Also available in three cool hues, the IdeaPad S540 is powered by up to 10th Gen Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7 processors.

The notebook also packs Lenovo’s exclusive Q-Control (also known as Intelligent Thermal Solutions, or ITS)—a smart feature that uses machine learning to monitor tasks running in the background and the device’s thermal attributes, to control its fans and optimise the battery for longer use. This feature will be available via a Lenovo Vantage update in fall 2019.

Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO A340

Smarter desktop

You’ve probably seen the sleek IdeaCentre AIO A340 recently. Well, here’s an uprated one—the IdeaCentre A540, a stylish all-in-one Windows 10 desktop offered in 24-inch and 27-inch screen sizes. The base of the device also functions as a wireless Qi-charger, even if the PC is switched off (the mains need to be plugged in and on, of course).
