Huawei WiFI AX3 router: Pre-order on 7 July

Huawei WiFi AX3

Huawei’s WiFi AX3 router that boasts superfast Wi-Fi 6 speeds has made its way to Malaysia. The device will be available for pre-order for one-day only on 7 July 2020, in conjunction with the Huawei Mid-Year Sale.

The router comes equipped with Huawei’s Gigahome processor (up to quad-core) and Gigahome Wi-Fi 6 chipset.

The Huawei WiFi AX3 not only packs Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) speeds, but also financial level Huawei HomeSec security safeguards. With an independent security zone (TEE-trusted execution environment) built into the chip and the TrustZone security constructed at microkernel level, the router has obtained the Evaluation Assurance Level-5 (EAL5) certification from Common Criteria—a globally-recognised IT product certification organisation.

Incorporating multi-chip technology, it offers “Wi-Fi 6 Plus” at double the network speed, alongside enhanced wall penetration capabilities, when used with other Huawei Wi-Fi 6 devices.

The quad-core model incorporates four independent signal amplifiers (two for the dual-core version), enabling mesh networking for multiple Huawei routers. It supports wireless, wired, as well as hybrid wireless + wired networking modes ensures full coverage in a household or business.

With Huawei Share, all it takes is one tap to connect the router to a Huawei device via NFC.

With its deep roots in 5G technologies, Huawei has become a major contributor to the Wi-Fi 6 standard. Huawei’s Dr Osama Aboul-Magd is the chairman of the Wi-Fi 6 standard working group. Additionally, Huawei has submitted 240 new Wi-Fi 6 proposals, accounting for 15 per cent of all proposals, more than any other device manufacturer. Huawei has introduced many advanced 5G technologies into Wi-Fi 6.

Pricing and availability

Huawei WiFi AX3 will be available for general sale from 10 July 2020. You can pre-order, for one-day-only, on Huawei Store, Lazada, and Shopee on 7 July in conjunction with the Huawei Mid-Year Sale.

The router is available in white and is priced at MYR299.
