HP has announced the return of the “OMEN Challenger Series” with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) as the main competition title. Entrants will be drawn from 12 countries across the Asia Pacific, who will battle it out to attempt to win their share of the USD50,000 prize pool.
Registration for the series starts in August 2019, with online qualifying rounds kicking off at the end of August 2019. These will run through to the Grand Finals to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 1-3 November 2019.
For Malaysians eager to jump in on the action, local qualifiers begin now with pre-qualifier happening on 6 September 2019.
Besides the CS:GO competition, HP is also launching a new university tournament titled Campus Legends to run alongside the main competition. The online-only format on DOTA 2 will offer a USD3,000 prize pool and is open to ten university teams per country from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
As part of the OMEN Challenger Series, from now until 30 September 2019, gamers who purchase the OMEN by HP gaming notebooks in Malaysia will be able to redeem Steam Wallet credit worth MYR50.
Gamers will also stand a chance to win an all-expense paid trip (T&C apply) for two to catch the OMEN Challenger Series LIVE in Jakarta, Indonesia.
A total of three pairs of winners will be selected.
