The latest flagship device in the honor X-series, the honor 7X is off to a scorching start. Honor Malaysia has revealed that the new device achieved record breaking sales on the first day of online sales via Vmall, its official online store. It can now lay claim to the title of the best-selling model in the store, breaking a three-year record.
The first-ever honor device with a FullView display was made available for sale on 18 December, as a “Fansgiving” one-hour flash sale exclusively on Vmall. It quickly became the fastest selling model in the region, with Malaysia among the top five performing markets together with the United States, India, Italy and Russia.
Honor said while preliminary honor 7X sales have been positive, it trails behind the legendary honor 3C, which made a Malaysian debut in 2014. The uber value-for-money device singlehandedly established the honor brand to “digital natives” in the Malaysian market.
The rising brand, however, did not disclose how many units were sold.
Coming back to the honor 7X, it’s the successor to the equally impressive honor 6X from 2016. It packs a 5.93-inch FullView FHD+ display, and a sleek all-metal body.
Powered by a 16nm octa-core Kirin 659 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, it comes built in with a 3,340mAh battery.
In the camera department, the honor 7X comes with a dual-camera setup: 16MP + 2MP rear camera with PDAF and all-new Portrait Mode.
The latest in the honor stable runs EMUI 5.1 based on Android Nougat.
