The Chinese smartphone maker is no stranger to harnessing celebrity endorsements to boost brand recognition. The previous OPPO F5 had a long list of global and local ambassadors including the stunning Chinese actress Dilireba (Dilreba Dilmurat); popular Taiwanese singers Yoga Lin and Eric Chou; as well as local favourites Fattah Amin, Neelofa, Ayda Jebat and Min Chen.
Hebe Tien is a Taiwanese singer and actress, formerly of hit all-girl group S.H.E. The 35-year old released her debut album, To Hebe, in 2010 establishing her as a solo artist. Her song, “A Little Happiness,” the theme song of the 2015 Taiwanese film Our Times became a hit in Taiwan.
Her music video for “A Little Happiness” has exceeded 100 million views on YouTube, the first Chinese-language music video to achieve the number in leading video platform’s history.
OPPO says, Hebe’s positive personality and image can help the brand reach out to a broader consumer and fan base.
The upcoming OPPO F7 is the next “Selfie Expert”, featuring a massive 25MP selfie camera that’s enhanced by artificial intelligence.
The selfie-centric phone is set to hit the Malaysian market sometime in April.
