After being exclusive State-side for eight months, Google is now bringing its Chromecast media streaming stick to 11 additional countries including Canada, the UK and Europe.

Chromecast is Google’s strategy to take over your living room, transforming your existing TV into a ‘smart’ one with access to content, apps and more. The Chromecast is a tiny, thumb-sized device that plugs into the HDMI port of your TV.

Once you’re plugged in, set it up with a mobile app, then send all your favourite online movies, TV series, music to your TV using your smart device or computer.

Get access to Netflix, YouTube, Hulu Plus, Google Play Movie and Music and Chrome. Chromecast works with Android devices, iPhones, iPads, Chrome for Mac and Windows.

Last month, Google launched an official Google Cast SDK for app makers to develop apps for the platform.

With the announcement, Chromecast is now officially available in Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and the UK. The device will be on sale at Amazon and Google Play and will cost £30, €35, and $39 Canadian respectively.

The big question for us here in Asia: When will it hit Asia? South East Asia? Malaysia?
