“Music is about freedom — freedom of expression, freedom of the arts, freedom to be entertained and freedom to be inspired. We took this as our inspiration when developing our offering. We want our subscribers to enjoy music with the freedom of being able to listen to it anytime and anywhere on their smartphones,” said Christian Thrane, Digi’s Chief Marketing Officer.

Local artistes namely the multi-talented Elizabeth Tan, award-winning rockstar Faizal Tahir, indie singer/songwriter Narmi, Genji, Diandra and beatboxer Shawn Lee graced the event held at Digi’s D’House Courtyard. YouTube sensation Elizabeth Tan also performed a live rendition of her first radio single “Knock Knock,” which is written and produced by Faizal Tahir and Mike Chan.

If you’ve never heard the catchy single, have listen to an acoustic version here, performed with rock star Faizal Tahir.

Also check out the amazing mash-up of the single featuring Elizabeth Tan, Bunkface, Diandra, Narmi, Genji and Shawn Lee.

Users are required to download the free Digi Music Freedom app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. A Windows Phone version is in the works although no timeline was given on its availability. For more information, visit digi.my/musicfreedom.

The new music partnerships showcase Digi’s commitment to making legal music more affordable for Malaysians. The Music Freedom pass is in line with the brand’s Digi Live brand proposition to bring the latest and most inspiring entertainment content to consumers.

If you’ve noticed, Digi underwent a brand identity refresh, with a promise to be the enabler for digital inspiration to customers, and commitment to deliver service excellence.

The new branding incorporates a new logo and ‘Let’s Inspire’ philosophy. Apart from Digi Live, the company introduced three other key propositions for its customers: Digi Value, Digi Easy and Best for Internet.

IMHO a very compelling proposition and a highly affordable one too. Certainly one for music fans and those who love listening to music on the go.
