Just days before the official kick-off of CES 2020 in Las Vegas, Lenovo has announced new additions to its ThinkSmart potfolio, designed to transform business communications in the evolving smart office landscape.
The all-new ThinkSmart View is a dedicated personal business communications device for Microsoft Teams audio and video calls. Additionally, Lenovo has rolled out the new ThinkSmart Manager, a proprietary software application for IT departments to easily manage interconnected ThinkSmart devices.
As office environments and work practices evolve, companies are looking for ways to carve out new types of workspaces to enable different types of work. In the process, companies face increasing challenges around privacy, productivity and teamwork. Workplace dynamics are shifting; companies need smarter technology to help both local and remote teams collaborate and communicate.
This is where Lenovo’s smart office solutions come in—designed to address different collaboration needs that ultimately drive real-world benefits. By empowering employees with smarter tools to effectively collaborate, organisations can cultivate a positive employee experience and enable more flexible working. This also helps attract and retain talent, and unleash workforce creativity, Lenovo says.
ThinkSmart View
While open spaces enable better collaboration and cultivates teamwork, it also poses new challenges in the work environment. Privacy, confidentiality, noise pollution, and clunky obsolete meeting technology are most common pain points.
Like a Lenovo Smart Display for your home, the ThinkSmart View comes with a dedicated display for Teams audio and video conferencing. Powered by the Qualcomm APQ8053 SoC, the device can sit at a desk or workstation, as well as hot-desking environment and home office.
Starting a meeting is a simple one-touch on the display; you can conveniently pair a Bluetooth headset for more privacy and sound insulation.
The ThinkSmart View also comes with a physical camera shutter and a device lock by PIN provides welcome security.
ThinkSmart Hub 500
For a huddle space in small to medium conference spaces, Lenovo offers the existing ThinkSmart Hub 500 with either Microsoft Team Rooms or Zoom Rooms.
ThinkSmart Edition Tiny for Zoom
Lenovo is also making available Zoom Rooms bundle kits for small, medium and large meeting spaces featuring its ThinkSmart Edition Tiny for Zoom (based on the ThinkCentre M920q). The solution includes the Lenovo Tab M10 controller and Heckler stand, featuring Logitech audio and video peripherals.
Lenovo Smart Office Professional Services
Different companies have different requirements for spaces and rooms. Lenovo Smart Office Professional Services offers end-to-end services—from consulting to deployment and management of a tailored smart office solution.
This is complemented by the new ThinkSmart Manager software that IT departments can use to remotely deploy, manage, configure, update and troubleshoot issues across connected ThinkSmart devices.

ThinkSmart View is expected to be available starting January 2020, starting at USD349 or USD449 with a ThinkPad X1 ANC Bluetooth Headset.
