BlackBerry PlayBook 16GB Unboxing

BlackBerry PlayBook Unboxing

Research In Motion‘s first ever tablet product and first ever product running the all-new QNX platform – the BlackBerry PlayBook, was launched in the US and Canada several months ago. Since then local telcos like Maxis, Celcom and uMobile have been offering the tablet bundled with exclusive data plans and packages, even throwing crazy bundles with BlackBerry phones. My first hand experience with the PlayBook during the media preview wasn’t too encouraging. While I loved the finishing and the hardware, things felt unfinished and buggy on the software side of things, with missing key features like messaging, email and calendaring. These babies haven’t exactly flown off the shelves, with RIM managing to push out around 490,000 units since its launch.

Fast forward a couple of months, I’ve been playing with a 16GB retail version for several weeks, coupled with a BlackBerry Bold 9650, thanks to RIM. I must say, it’s been a different experience. I’ll leave the details to the full review to come, but for now, enjoy the unboxing pictures after the jump.
