Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Prime review: Primed & ready

Xiaomi’s Redmi line of smartphones has a large of fan base due to the fact that they’re incredibly affordable and usually feature decent hardware in its price range. If the Redmi Note 5A is an indication of the plans Xiaomi has for the Redmi line, then it’s quite likely those plans aren’t going to change anytime soon.

After spending some quality time with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5A Prime, I believe the Redmi line has really reached its prime (pun intended) but with that said, I believe it will only continue to get better in the future.

Infinix Note 4 Pro review: Is this the alternative to the Galaxy Note8?

Infinix is a brand that I believe not many of you would have heard of. I don’t blame you. It’s a fairly new brand and it’s attempting something brave with its Note 4 Pro (X571). Positioned as THE alternative to the much beloved Samsung Galaxy Note series, Infinix even claims this is “The Better Note.”

Flattering impersonator or flat copy? I spent some time with the Note 4 Pro to find out if it’s really “The Better Note.”

Xiaomi Mi A1 review: Mid-range Mi-racle

Xiaomi has always been known to be a company that has a knack for surprising new and even old fans. While the company has ventured into many other product segments i.e. notebooks, smart TVs, air purifiers and even luggage, I’m very glad to know that they haven’t neglected what made them a household name in the first place. Feature-packed and attractively priced smartphones that are at most most times, a fraction of the asking price of competitor devices.

As expected during a launch event about three weeks ago, the company announced the arrival of the Mi Mix 2, Mi Notebook Pro and the Mi Note 3. While those 3 devices definitely got tongues wagging, the device that really got everyone talking was the Mi A1, the company’s very first pure Android smartphone that is part of Google’s Android One programme. Yes. You read that right. PURE ANDROID and MIUI is nowhere to be found on this device. So how does the Mi A1 fare? Read on to find out.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3 is the mecca for gamers and video game journalists. This annual event is the “be all, end all” pilgrimage that most gamers dream of embarking on at least once in their lifetime.

I hear you asking “Why?”.

Why? Because during E3, gamers not only get to be at ground zero where all the latest games will be announced but also get the chance to experience the game before anyone else does. Then there’s of course all the hot booth babes and cosplayers but if your focus is on those attractive ladies (or dude), then you sir/madam are not a gamer. You’re just… horny. Continue Reading

[MWC2016] Huawei surprises and delights with MateBook 2-in-1 notebook

When Microsoft first launched the Surface, there were plenty of naysayers and despite it garnering acclaim afterwards, it tanked in sales. Fast forward till today, the Surface is in its fourth iteration and it has carved a niche for itself, dominating the segment it helped create. While there are competitors and copycats, none has quite matched the original. Perhaps until now.
