Now that the new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c have been announced, the Malaysian Apple Online Store has removed all traces of the iPhone 5. The iPhone 4s is the single iPhone product in the store right now, listed for RM1,499 unlocked.
The new iPhone 5S is available for $199 for the 16GB, $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB. Apple is offering new cases in multiple colours for $39 apiece, including a special (RED) version. The iPhone 5C will retail at $99 for 16GB and $199 for 32GB. Under contract, the now lowest end iPhone 4s will be offered free.
Pre-orders start from September 13 for the iPhone 5C. On September 20, you can purchase both iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S in the US, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Japan, Singapore and United Kingdom. This marks the first time Apple is releasing the iPhone at the start. 100 other countries, including Malaysia will get the new iPhones in December 2013.
Again, Malaysia is at the bottom rung of countries offering the iPhone. Like the previous years before this, a December time slot is expected with the major telcos Maxis, Celcom and DiGi launching consecutively.
Pure speculation, but based on Apple’s pricing strategy, we may be looking at possible prices of the new iPhones as below:
