The much-awaited Apple iPhone 12 is finally out, albeit a little later than usual this year. The powerful new line-up comprises the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Across the board, the new smartphone series gets 5G connectivity, edge-to-edge Super Retina XDR displays (bye, bye LCD), a new Ceramic Shield front cover, Apple A14 Bionic chip, and surprise, surprise…MagSafe wireless charging. The Pro models also feature a LiDAR camera, first debuting on the new iPad Pro.
Apple has removed the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max out of the 2020 line-up but has retained the new iPhone SE, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11. This makes the 2020 line-up the strongest and most extensive, catering for almost every market segment possible.
First-tier countries including Australia, China, Germany, Japan, the UK, the US, and 30 more countries and regions will be able to pre-order the iPhone 12 on Friday, 16 October 2020, with general availability on Friday, 23 October 2020.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 12 mini will be available for pre-order on Friday, 6 November, with availability beginning Friday, 13 November 2020. It will be available in India, South Korea, and more than a dozen other countries and regions beginning Friday, 30 October.
Customers in Australia, China, Germany, Japan, the UK, the US, and more than 30 other countries and regions will be able to pre-order iPhone 12 Pro on Friday, 16 October, with availability beginning Friday, 23 October, and pre-order for iPhone 12 Pro Max will begin on Friday, November 6, with availability beginning Friday, 13 November.
iPhone 12 Pro will be available in India, South Korea, and more than a dozen other countries beginning Friday, 30 October.
Malaysia will have to wait a little longer. However, Apple has released official pricing of its new smartphones.
As part of its environmental goals, Apple no longer includes a power adapter or earphones with any of its iPhones (including older models).
