Looks like Huawei isn’t the only one offering “GST rebates” before the unpopular goods and service tax is zero-rate effective 1 June 2018. Acer Malaysia has jumped on the bandwagon and is offering a six percent cash back on all its products from now until 31 May 2018.
Products that are eligible for immediate cash back include its full range of desktops, notebooks, monitors and accessories.
Redemption of the six percent cash back is simple.
Firstly, purchase the Acer product(s) at retail price. Step two, log on to goo.gl/BRTS6W to submit relevant details of your purchase, including your bank details.
Upon verification, the cash back will be credited directly into your bank account. The redemption date ends on 8 June 2018.

The new Pakatan Harapan government announced that the GST will be zero-rated starting 1 June 2018. It’s a fast track to eventually abolishing the tax, a pledge the ruling government made as part of its manifesto for the 14th Malaysian General Election.
The tax has been blamed for rising living costs since its was introduced in 2015. The previous government raked in nearly MYR44 billion in GST revenue last year.
The new government is expected to reintroduce the sales and services tax (SST) soon, although no rate has been revealed.
