Just in time to celebrate Merdeka Day, Acer rolled out five refreshed notebook models today including the much-anticipated Acer Nitro 5 (AMD), Acer Spin 5, Acer Swift 1, Acer Aspire 5 and Aspire 3. With the announcement, Acer is also extending its Acer Day promotion to these new models.
Acer Day runs from 2 August until 30 September 2020 with a host of discounts, rewards, and prizes, including MYR500,000 worth of value-added gifts.
Acer Nitro 5
Short of falling under the Predator banner, the Acer Nitro 5 is the brand’s entry-level gaming notebook, now powered by the AMD Ryzen 7 4800H octa-core processor bundled with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (4GB GDDR6).
The popular Nitro 5 packs plenty of kit for the money including a 15.6-inch 144Hz FHD IPS display with slim bezels.
Laid with 8GB RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD out of the box, the device provides additional RAM and m.2 slots for further expansion.
Connectivity is reassuringly fast with Intel Wireless Wi-Fi 6 and Killer Ethernet E2600.
Keeping things icy is a dual-fan cooling system backed by quad intake and exhaust vents. This killer combo delivers a 25 per cent thermal performance improvement over its predecessor.
The gaming notebook’s quad-zone RGB keyboard with 1.6mm key travel gets highlighted WASD and arrow keys. To monitor, control and customise the system and RGB lighting effects, you can access the built-in NitroSense software via the dedicated NitroSense key.

Acer Spin 5
The stylish and versatile Acer Spin 5 gets a new 360 degree hinge that creates extra ventilation space for better thermal performance, flexibility, and a comfortable typing experience.
The 13.5-inch touch FHD display boasts ultra-narrow 7.78mm bezels, resulting in an over 80 per cent screen-to-body ratio. Protected by Gorilla Glass, the display is housed in a sleek magnesium-aluminium alloy body wearing just 1.2kg and measuring a mere 14.9mm thin.
The notebook is paired with the Acer Active Stylus with Wacom AES 1.0 (4,096 levels of pressure) that can be neatly stored in a dedicated storage dock located on the side of the device. The dock doubles as a charger; a 15 second charge can offer up to 90 minutes of use.
The Acer Spin 5 is offered in two variants: 10th Gen Intel Core i7 with 16GB RAM and 10th Gen Intel Core i5 with 8GB RAM. Both are paired with Intel Iris Plus Graphics and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD.
The Core i7 model retails for MYR5,299 while the Core i5 model is priced at MYR4,399. Both are available immediately at all Acer official online stores and all Acer authorised resellers nationwide.

Swift 1
Targeted at students and casual users, the Acer Swift 1 is equipped with the Intel Pentium Silver N5030 processor paired with 4GB RAM and 256GB PCIe NVMe SSD. Its 14-inch FHD IPS display boasts narrow bezels delivering up to an 84 per cent screen-to-body ratio, as well as Acer ExaColor and BlueLightShield technologies.
Featuring metal top and bottom covers, the Swift 1 measures just 14.95mm in depth and weighs 1.3kg.
The fanless device packs a fast charge feature, providing up to four hours of battery life with just 30 minutes of charging.
The notebook comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019.
Offered in Safari Gold now, an iridescent-coloured Swift 1 will be coming in early September 2020. Priced at MYR2,099, the Swift 1 is available immediately at all Acer official online stores and all Acer authorised resellers nationwide.
As part of the Acer Day promotion, the Swift 1 can be picked up for MYR1,999.
Aspire 5 and Aspire 3
Acer’s reliable workhorses—the Aspire 5 and Aspire 3 are now refreshed with 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processors with 4GB onboard RAM and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD. The notebooks offer additional RAM slots and a HDD upgrade kit for future hop-ups. Moreover, the Aspire 3 comes with 32GB Intel Optane Memory for added performance boost.
By the way, the Aspire 5 comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2019 edition.
The Aspire 5 features a 14-inch FHD IPS display and comes in stylish Magic Purple while the Aspire 3 packs a 15.6-inch FHD display and offers classic Obsidian Black and Indigo Blue colour options.
Both are available immediately at all Acer official online stores and all Acer authorised resellers nationwide, priced at MYR2,599.
