Acer extends commercial portfolio with new Veriton, TravelMate, Chromebook devices

Acer Malaysia has revealed its next generation of devices targeted at business and education segments – headlined by the powerful Veriton series, flanked by TravelMate notebooks and expansive Chromebook line.

In terms of Chromebooks, Acer has championed the product line since the very first Chromebook in 2011. Since 2014, Acer has led the segment with the largest and most complete portfolio of Chrome devices globally.

Acer Veriton S, Veriton X and Veriton M Series

The Veriton family of desktop PCs come powered by up to the 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ processors paired with Intel Optane technology. Now also offering up to M.2 2280 PCIe SSD storage, expect instant boot-up, speed and performance to boot.

The new business-focused lineup also come with faster connectivity thanks to 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi support and Gigabit LAN. In terms of expansion, the Veriton X and Veriton M boast USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 ports, D-sub, HDMI and Display Ports, which can support up to three independent displays without additional GPUs.

For security, they come built-on with business-level security Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0).

In terms of memory, the Veriton X6660G and M6660G feature up to four DIMMs that support up to 64GB of memory.

Handy in a business environment, the PCs support remote management and security at hardware level, thanks to Intel vPro technology.

Moving down a rung are the Veriton X2660G and Veriton S2660G, small form factor yet powerful desktops for mainstream users. The desktops support up to 32GB of memory, with the S2660G integrated with a 256GB SSD for quicker boot-up and response.

Acer TravelMate X3410 and P2 Series

Acer’s TravelMate series has always been a workhorse, now powered by up to 9th Gen Intel Core i processors and shipped with Windows 10 Pro.

The TravelMate X3410 features up to 32GB of DDR4 memory and up to 512GB SDD with battery life of up to 15 hours, charged up via USB Type-C.

With 2×2 MU-MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi, fast connectivity is assured.

Display options offered are up to 14-inch FHD display with patented Acer BluelightShield and ComfyView technology.

The notebook series come integrated with TPM 2.0 hardware-based encryption to ensure secure user credentials, email and data.

Meanwhile, the TravelMate P2 series comes with 4GB RAM (supports up to 32GB RAM). Available in two variants, the TravelMate P2410 and P249 meet the needs of small and medium businesses. The TravelMate P2410 also comes with the option of 256GB SSD or 1TB hard drive.

Acer Chromebook Spin 11

The Chromebook takes a new spin with the convertible Acer Chromebook Spin 11, featuring Acer’s patented 360-degree dual-torque hinge design. The 11.6-inch HD IPS display (1366×768) offers an optimised touch experience that also supports a Wacom EMR stylus (bundled with the device).

The cool thing about the Chromebook Spin 11 is the “world camera” that’s located above the keyboard. The secondary camera has a 88-degree Wide Field of View (FOV) that’s great for video conferences and Google Hangouts no matter how you spin the device.

Running Chrome OS, the notebook supports Google Play and gives users access to over 2 million Android apps.

It has two USB Type-C ports for fast data transfers as well as to power up an external display.

Under the hood, the Chromebook Spin 11 is powered by the Intel Celeron quad-core N3450 chip, mated to either 4GB or 8GB of RAM and up to 64GB of onboard eMMC storage.

It boasts up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Acer Chromebook 11

In education environments, durability and ruggedness is essential. This is where the Chromebook 11 comes in. Boasting MIL-STD 81F for sand and dust intrusion protection, it can tolerate drops from heights of up to 1.22m, thanks to a durable corner-shield structure and rubber bumper surrounding the keyboard.

It has a unique internal honeycomb structure that reinforces the body. It can handle up to 60kg of downforce on the top cover.

Weighing just 1.26kg, the notebook has a 180-degree hinge that enables the 11.6-inch IPS screen display to lay down flat for sharing purposes.

The device includes two USB 3.1 Type-C port and is powered by the Intel Celeron quad-core N3450 chip. It delivers up to 12 hours of battery life on a single charge.

Acer Chromebook Tab 10

Acer’s again first out of the gate with this one. The Acer Chromebook Tab 10 is the world’s first education tablet running Chrome OS. Built for classrooms, the Chromebook Tab 10 packs an OP1 processor (dual-core Cortex-A72) coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

It comes with a 9.7-inch QXGA IPS touch display (2048×1536) and has an onboard battery that delivers up to 9 hours of use. The cool thing is that the tablet can be charged using a powerbank via its USB Type-C port.

The tablet comes with a Wacom EMR stylus that’s neatly stored in a silo on the underside of the device. The stylus does not require a battery and is highly durable.

The Chromebook Tab 10 supports AR for immersive learning experiences with Google’s Expedition AR.

It’s available in cobalt blue.

Acer Chromebox CXI3

The Acer Chromebox CXI3 is a deceivingly small box that houses up to the latest 8th Gen Intel Core i processor and up to 16GB DDR4 RAM. It features a plethora of ports including USB Type-C and HDMI ports.

The compact design enables it to fit neatly into any workplace. The cool thing is that there are three ways it can fit into an environment – laid flat on the tablet, stand or even on a VESA mount.
