Back for the second year running, Acer Day 2018 brings special deals, prizes and flash promos to Malaysian consumers. Acer also launched a trio of new devices namely the Predator Helios 300 Special Edition gaming notebook, ultralight Swift 7 notebook and the superthin Switch 7 Black Edition 2-in-1 convertible notebook.
The annual Acer Day kicked off with a roadshow at the Centre Court, Mid Valley Megamall. Members of the media, guests, visitors and fans were treated to exclusive performances by all-girl pop group Amoi Amoi and FS (Fuying & Sam).
The inaugural Acer Day launched last year across the region and generated more than seven million clicks across social media platforms, and over 2,500,000 pageviews on the microsite. The celebration is held in 20 countries across Pan-Asia, including Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
This year’s theme “Play Music Together” draws inspiration form the belief that music the universal language that unites, transcending borders and race.
Predator Helios 300 Special Edition
The Predator Helios 300 Special Edition is the latest to join the growing line of special edition models from Acer, featuring an all-white aluminium chassis with gold accents.
The gaming notebook comes with up to a 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with an overclockable NVIDIA GeForce GX 1060 graphics with 6GB of GDDR5 VRAM, 256GB PCIe SSD and a 1TB hard disk drive. In terms of memory, the notebook comes with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, upgradeable to 32GB.
The VR-ready device has an upgraded 144Hz 15.6-inch FHD IPS display and includes Gigabit Ethernet and Gigabit Wi-Fi for ultra-fast connectivity.
Acer’s proprietary AeroBlade 3D metal fans keep the gaming notebook cool at all times, easily managed through the award-winning PredatorSense application.
The Predator Helios 300 Special Edition retails for MYR6,199 and will come bundled with a matching all-white Predator gaming backpack, earphone, gaming mouse and mousepad. The notebook will be available for purchase in mid-August at all Acer Official Online Stores and authorised Predator Partners nationwide.
Acer Swift 7
The Acer Swift 7 is the world’s thinnest 4G LTE-enabled notebook. Measuring just 8.98mm, the new Swift 7 features a 14-inch Full HD IPS display (1920×1080) with narrow bezels and protected by Gorilla Glass.
The notebook is powered by the 7th Gen Intel Core processor with 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM. Storage-wise, Swift 7 offers 256GB PCIe SSD and boasts up to 10 hours of battery life.
The wafer-thin notebook is encased in an all-black, unibody aluminium shell.
Built-in 4G LTE connectivity complements the latest 2×2 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity with MU-MIMO wireless technology for fast connections.
The Swift 7 includes a fingerprint reader located to the left of the keyboard, and it also features business-class security via a Trusted Platform Module (TPM).
The Acer Swift 7 retails for MYR6,399 and will come with a protective sleeve, a USB Type-C to HDMI adapter and a USB Type-A adapter in the box. The notebook is available for purchase immediately at all Acer Official Online Stores and authorised resellers nationwide.
Acer Switch 7 Black Edition
The Acer Switch 7 Black Edition is the world’s first fanless 2-in-1 notebook with discrete graphics.
Acer’s proprietary Dual LiquidLoop fanless colling technology keeps the device cool regardless if you’re gaming or being productive.
The device is powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics.
What’s cool is the patented Acer AutoStand – a kickstand that can auto-deploy and auto-retract, making single-handed use simple and hassle-free.
The versatile notebook features a 13.5-inch QHD IPS display (2256×1504), housed in a sturdy metal body. It weighs less than 1.15kg with the keyboard detached.
