Acer was the first computer manufacturer to introduce the “ultrabook” early last month, a lightweight notebook for mobile warriors. I have my opinions about the term “ultrabook” but I’ll leave the discussion of terminology for another day.
So here’s the Acer Aspire S3, in its sleek silver finish and featherweight splendor. It’s skinny at only 13mm, and light – 1.33kilos. Slouch it is not, powered by either Intel i3, i5 or i7 dual-core processors with a 13.3-inch display supporting 1366 x 768 resolution. Options for hard drive include 320GB HDD or 240GB or higher SSD. The three-cell 3,280mAh non-removable lithium-ion battery gives enough juice for six hours of active use, or 50 days of standby time. Key selling points include its 2-second InstantOn feature.
