Huawei gave the world a little bit of a shock when it unveiled its business-focused 2-in-1 tablet—the Matebook at MWC 2016. The Windows 10 tablet, Huawei’s first by the way, was every bit the productivity-driven tablet it was positioned as, touting beefy specs including Intel Core m processors with SSD storage.
Retailing at MYR5,399 (excluding the optional MateDock and MatePen), its price point put It in the same ranks as full-blown notebooks and of course Apple’s powerful iPad Pro. Cheap it was not, but nonetheless an alternative to clunky notebooks and tablets out there.
Here’s a piece of mouth-watering news though. Huawei has gone a little mad, perhaps because it’s close to the Chinese New Year, and is offering the MateBook for more than 70% off.
On its official Facebook page, the China tech giant lists the Matebook, inclusive of the MateDock (RRP: MYR399) and MatePen (RRP: MYR369) for an unbelievable MYR1,599. The bundle at its original price would be worth MYR6,167.
The flash sale will happen next Monday, 22 January 2018 at 3PM on Vmall.my, Huawei’s official online store.
There are limited units available, so be sure to login or register for a Vmall.my account beforehand to avoid disappointment. There is bound to be a huge influx of eager buyers, so it’s best to be prepared.
And in case you’re curious, no this isn’t a scam. You can head over to the official product page here. Of course, you can’t buy yet.
As a refresher, the Matebook boasts a 12-inch 2160×1440 IPS display, and comes powered with several options of 6th Gen Intel Core m processors. It’s bundled with 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
The tablet features 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, USB Type-C and is in-built with a large 4,420mAh battery. Learn more about the Matebook here.
