The new Microsoft Office 2016 for Windows is now in town, bringing new Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote, Project, Visio and Access to Malaysia. Office 365 subscribers can download the new Office 2016 suite as part of their subscription.

In a recent survey by Microsoft Asia Pacific titled “New World of Work,” Malaysian working professionals want work flexibility but are hampered by challenges. Out of a possible score of 100, Malaysia scored 42 which is slightly above the Asia Pacific average. Only 34% in Malaysia feel equipped to hand challenges in the modern workplace.

Together with the big Office 2016 release, Microsoft also revealed the enhanced Office 365 services. Existing or new customers will always get the most up-to-date app releases, including unlimited OneDrive online storage.

Pricing and availability

The new Office 2016 apps are available in 40 languages and requires at least Windows 7. Office 365 subscribers can choose to download Office 2016 apps starting this month.

Estimated retail pricing for Office 365 Personal is RM219.99 while Office 365 Home is at RM299.99.

Office as a one-tome purchase is also available for PCs and Mac. Office Home & Business 2016 is priced at RM1,099; Office Home & Student 2016 retails at RM449.99.
