Honor 6 Plus and Honor 4C debut in Malaysia

Honor 6 Plus

Celebrating its first anniversary in Malaysia, Honor Malaysia has launched two new devices — the flagship Honor 6 Plus and budget Honor 4C. The two Android-powered smartphones are available from Vmall.my at RM1,399 and RM529 respectively.

The Honor 6 Plus is essentially the bigger sibling of the fantastic Honor 6 from last year. Sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD LCD (401PPI), the sleek device measures just 7.5mm thin, and weighing 165g.

Fit and finish is similar to the Honor 6 too, however, the back case is made from a six-layer composite coating that’s literally bulletproof (similar material used in military helmets). It’s also powered by a more powerful 1.8GHz octa-core Kirin 925 processor, with 3GB of RAM. Storage is a generous 32GB with option to upgrade via microSD up to 128GB.

The Honor 6 Plus is a dual-SIM, dual-standby device with 4G LTE (Cat6). Like the dual-SIM Honor 4X, the second SIM slot doubles as a microSD slot.

The dual 8MP main shooter is a focus of the Honor 6 Plus, offering some ‘bokehlicious’ post-shot effects. It comes with autofocus and a dual-LED flash set up. The unique dual-camera setup also enables a super fast focus within 0.1 seconds. It has a large aperture of F/0.95-16 which lets you “first capture, then focus, then adjust.”

The front also gets an 8MP unit, which should be great for selfies.

Available in Black and White, the Honor 6 Plus retails for RM1,399. You can place an order at Vmall.my from 3:08PM, 6 May 2015.

Honor 4C Honor 4C

The Honor 4C is the budget-friendly phone that features similar underpinnings as the Honor 4X. It’s powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Kirin 620, mated to 2GB RAM and on-board 8GB of storage. You can upgrade up to 32GB via microSD.

The 5-inch display is only a HD 720p unit, encased in a ultra slim frame of only 7.9mm thinness.

The rear camera and flash design is apparently a tribute to Hayao Miyazaki, creator of the Japanese anime Laputa: Castle in the Sky.

3G-only, the Honor 4C is a dual-SIM device taking in micro-SIM.

In the camera department, there’s a 13MP f/2.0 Sony-sourced unit on the rear with autofocus and LED flash, while the front gets a 5MP wtih 22mm wide angle lens.

Available in Black and White, the Honor 4C retails for RM529. You can place an order at Vmall.my from 3:08PM, 7 May 2015.
