As part of its 2013 Z Workstation lineup, HP updated the already powerful HP Z Desktop Workstations — the HP Z420, Z620 and Z820, uprated with latest Intel Xeon “Ivy Bridge” E5-1600v2 and E5-2600v2 family of processors, as well as packing new ECC memory running 16% faster, and 2nd generation Thunderbolt ports for high speed I/O.
HP Z820: The ultimate workhorse
The top-of-the-line, dual-socket HP Z820 Workstation delivers outstanding performance, award-winning industrial design that feature innovative tool-free serviceability and expandability. The desktop workstation offers up to 24 processing cores, up to 512GB of ECC memory, up to 15TB high-speed storage and up to two NVIDIA Quadro K6000 graphics, the highest performing GPU solution in the Z family.
Thunderbolt 2 technology delivers 4x bandwidth improvements over USB 3.0.
HP Z620: Compact power
The HP Z620 is deceivingly quiet and compact. But don’t let its small footprint fool you. The versatile workstation packs 24 discrete processing cores, up to 192GB of ECC memory, up to 12TB of high-speed storage, and up to NVIDIA Quadro K6000 or dual NVIDIA K5000 graphics for no-compromise graphics performance.
The HP Z Workstation family comes with a choice of Windows 8 Pro, Windows 7 Professional or Linux operating systems.
HP Z420: Value performer
The HP Z420 is HP’s most popular workstation, delivering performance at outstanding value. The workstation incudes up to eight processing cores using the latest E5-1600v2 and E5-2600v2 processor families, packs up to 64GB of ECC memory, up to 12TB of high-speed storage, and NVIDIA Quadro K6000 or AMD W7000, or dual NVIDIA K2000 graphics. The value workhorse provides whisper-quiet performance with optional HP Liquid Cooling.
HP Z230: Small form flexibility
The HP Z230 is the latest addition to the Z Workstation line-up, delivering next-generation processor and graphics technologies in a selection of Small Form Factor (SFF) or compact Tower enclosures. The SFF is 57% smaller than the tower. The Z230 is powered by the Intel Xeon E3-1200 series or Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processor family. The tower chassis allows almost limitless storage expandability with its six drive bays including a 2.5-inch bay for SSD drives. The Z230 features a wide array of professional graphics from NVIDIA, AMD and Intel.
This is HP’s most affordable workstation yet, perfect for PC users working in government and education environments as well as MCAD, M&E and geospatial users.
