Nokia Malaysia has finally launched its flagship Windows Phone 8-powered smartphones – Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 in Malaysia. The phones are available for pre-booking as of today at all Nokia retail outlets and will reach consumer hands on December 21, just in time for Christmas! The phones will also be offered by telcos Celcom and DiGi, and prices will be announced shortly.
The Lumia 920 follows the design language from the award-winning Lumia 900, sleek and minimalist with a single piece of polycarbonate fused with glass. In my opinion, it’s one of the best looking smartphones out there in the market. It comes with an array of striking colours – white, black, yellow and red. My personal favourites are white and yellow. Stunning.
The top-of-the-line smartphone uses the powerful dual-core Snapdragon S4 rated 1.5Ghz, packing more than sufficient firepower for today’s ever-demanding smartphone needs in web browsing, photo and video processing, running apps, playing games and being productive. The Lumia 920 is bundled with a generous 1GB RAM and 16GB of storage.
One of the outstanding features of the Lumia 920, is the stunning 4.5″ PureMotion+ HD display with ClearBlack technology. The camera with PureView imaging technology and Carl Zeiss optics is the best in its class. Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) technology and the revolutionary floating lens set-up, the Lumia 920 offers incredible image quality, colour reproduction and low-light performance.
The Lumia 920 also features inductive Qi technology built-in, leading the way in wireless charging for devices. With the coming Nokia Wireless Charging Stand and Nokia Wireless Charging Plate, all you need to do is place your device on top of the pad to get your device charged.
The Lumia 920 also has near-field communication (NFC) and high-speed 4G LTE built-in. Note that although LTE capabilities are built-in, local telco networks need to have LTE deployed before the phone can take advantage of the blazing speeds.
The Lumia 820 on the other hand, is a mid-range Windows Phone 8 device. It comes with the same zippy dual-core 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 processor found on its bigger sibling, making it no less a performer despite its ‘mid-range’ tag.
The device comes with an interchangeable polycarbonate back cover and 4.3″ OLED ClearBlack display. Certainly great value for money. Available back cover colours include white, black, red, yellow, grey, cyan and purple.
Both the Lumia 920 and 820 are powered by Windows Phone 8, with its signature Live Tile interface and fluid, intuitive user experience.
Bundles apps include Cinemagraph, the acclaimed Nokia Maps and augmented reality Nokia City Lens.
The Lumia 920 retails at RM1,999 and the Lumia 820 retails for RM1,599.
Both devices are available for pre-orders today at all Nokia retail stores. Devices will be available on December 21. All optional accessories will be available in January 2013.
