Barely a month since it debuted, the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 (ZB602KL) gets a software update delivered over-the-air (OTA). The update delivers several key improvements including camera performance and fingerprint unlock speed.
The update bearing version number 15.2016.1805.309 is being pushed out to different serial numbers in batches, so it may take several days before you receive the update notice.
To check manually, you can head over to Settings > System to see if the new firmware is available.

Dubbed the Redmi Note 5-killer, the ZenFone Max Pro is a live-wire mid-range smartphone positioned as a “limitless gaming device.”
For good reason. It has a massive 5,000mAh battery and some beefy albeit mid-range internals that include the powerful Snapdragon 636 processor coupled with a Adreno 509 GPU.
It’s a brilliant package, and as we found in our hands-on review with the device, an absolutely compelling buy.
Yes, it did have some flaws including inconsistent performance with the fingerprint sensor, which we hope is solved with the new OTA update.
Also, we found that the camera could sometimes be slow to launch, and slow to focus. Again, we hope this has been improved with the update.
