Yes is offering a limited time ‘Merdeka & Malaysia Day Promotion’ in conjunction with Malaysia’s 59th Merdeka and upcoming Malaysia Day celebrations. The promotion bundle consists of the Yes Altitude 4G LTE smartphone for just MYR188 (SRP: MYR399 with GST) with the MYR68/month Yes 4G LTE 68 postpaid plan.
As you know, Yes launched its 4G LTE services with much fanfare in July. Together with its competitive ‘Double Double’ 4G LTE + WIMAX deals, it introduced its second ever smartphone – the Yes Altitude.
The Altitude is one of the lowest priced 4G VoLTE-capable smartphones you’ll find in Malaysia, under-cutting the affordable Samsung Galaxy J by MYR100. Retailing at just MYR399, the Altitude is an uber-affordable device, suitable for first time smartphone buyers or those looking for a second backup device.
Sporting a 5-inch HD IPS on-cell display, its claim to fame is crystal clear high definition voice calls only possible through an all-data network like Yes 4G. It is said that voice call quality is 3-6 times better than calls made over 2G and 3G networks.
I took the Yes Altitude for a spin, and here are my initial thoughts of the device.
The Altitude comes in Gold, White and Grey.
So, back to the promo bundle. You can take home the Yes Altitude for just MYR188 when you sign up for the Yes 4G LTE Postpaid 68 plan, which comes with a data quota of 16GB – 12GB of 4G LTE and 4GB of 4G Broadband (WIMAX). It’s a 12-month contract with free unlimited on-net VoLTE calls and SMS. The commitment is costs MYR68 monthly (MYR72.08 with GST). Note, to use the 4GB 4G Broadband quota, you’ll need to have one of Yes’ 4G WIMAX devices – Go, Huddle, Huddle XS or Zoom.
If you opt for the MYR88/month postpaid plan, you can take home the Yes Altitude for free.
Yes has not given any indication on when the promotion will end, but take advantage of the offer early in any case.
