With the arrival of the Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) model on Malaysian shores, Digi has introduced Digi AirSIM Number Share service for iPhone and Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) owners.
What exactly is Digi AirSIM Number Share?
To put it simply, it allows for you to share your mobile number with both your iPhone and Apple Watch, so you don’t need a get a separate SIM with a different number. Since you’ll be able to use your Apple Watch untethered and independently from your iPhone, this makes perfect sense!
How much does Digi AirSIM cost?
The service costs an additional MYR10 per month on top of your existing Digi Postpaid plan. For a limited time, you’ll get the service for free for the first six months from the date of registration.
With it, you can make and receive domestic calls as well as use mobile data directly from the Apple Watch.
If you’re buying the Apple Watch via Digi’s PhoneFreedom 365 plan, you’ll get also Digi AirSIM free for the first six months. The offer ends 30 April 2020.
Who can subscribe to Digi AirSIM?
All Digi Postpaid customers with an eligible rate plan i.e. plans about MYR80 per month, except Digi Business, can subscribe to Digi AirSIM Number Share. Applicable to both Principal and Supplementary lines.
What devices are supported by Digi AirSIM?
According to Digi, here are supported smartphones:
- iPhone SE
- iPhone 6S/6S Plus
- iPhone 7/7 Plus
- iPhone 8/8 Plus
- iPhone X
- iPhone XR/XS/XS Max
- iPhone 11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max
These devices must have at least the iOS 13.2 installed. More devices will be made available in the future.
Paired with:
- Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular)
- Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular)
A minimum of Watch OS 6.1 needs to be installed in these devices. More devices will be made available in the future.
How do I subscribe to Digi AirSIM?
Once you’ve paired the new Apple Watch to your iPhone, the option to sign up will be available to you via the Watch App on your iPhone.
Is Digi AirSIM available for Digi Prepaid users?
At the moment, the service is only available to Digi Postpaid customers. You may want to consider migrating to a Postpaid plan to enjoy the service.
What about Android users?
Digi AirSIM currently only supports Apple devices but more devices will be supported in the future.
