Western Digital has unleashed its WD Blue and WD Green solid state drives (SSD), the first WD SATA client SSDs. Made for instant-on responsiveness, durability and low power consumption, they are perfect for notebook or desktop PCs.
WD Blue and WD Green SSDs boast near-maximum speed of SATA drives – that’s in excess of 500MB/s sequential read and write speeds. Moreover, you’ll get best-in class endurance, MTTF and WD Functional Integrity Testing (F.I.T) Lab certification. MTTF is defined as mean tie to failure – essentially the length of time a device is expected to last in operation. This is especially important with components like storage.
The new drives boast industry-leading 1.75 million hours MTTF, complemented by reduced power consumption and reduced heat, compared to conventional HDDs.
WD SSD Dashboard software, available as a free download, allows you to monitor performance and capacity.
