Vivo X50 series is coming to Malaysia soon

vivo X50 series

Vivo’s latest flagship smartphone—the X50 series is coming soon to Malaysia, vivo teases. The next generation phone series will come in three 5G-enabled models (no surprises here)—the X50, X50 Pro, and X50 Pro+.

Details are sketchy but rest assured, the X50 will be all about the camera. Announced in China a month ago, the higher-end X50 Pro and X50 Pro+ will boast the first Gimbal Camera System on a smartphone.

Vivo says the tiny in-camera gimbal is modelled after real gimbals, which moves in the opposite direction of shaky motions, theoretically delivering steady, sharper handheld shots.

Both the X50 Pro and X50 Pro+ packs a quad-camera setup on the back, with a periscope lens that offers up to 60x optical/digital zoom mix.

Strangely, it is reported that the X50 Pro will come with a 48MP Sony IMX598 with the Gimbal Camera System, while the X50 Pro+ gets a 50MP Samsung GN1 sensor sans the trick gimbal system.

Complementing the main sensor are the 8MP f/3.0 periscope telephoto camera (5x optical zoom), 13MP f/2.5 portrait camera (2x optical zoom), and 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

X50

The X50 sports a 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display (2,376×1,080) with a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The built-in 4,200mAh battery supports 33W fast charging.

X50 Pro

The X50 Pro packs a similar display, processor, memory, and storage specs as the X50. It, however, features a slightly bigger 4,315mAh battery that also supports 33W fast charging.

X50 Pro+

Also rocking the same sized 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, the X50 Pro+’s display, however, boasts a 120Hz refresh rate. It comes powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB of UFS storage. It shares the same 4,315mAh battery with the X50 Pro but supports 44W fast charging.

In China, the X50 starts from CNY3,498; X50 Pro starts from CNY4,298; and the X50 Pro+ starts from CNY4,998.

The flagship X50 series is expected to hit Malaysian shores sometime in July.

Stay tuned for updates.
