Vivo V15 pre-order starts 16 March

Vivo V15

Hot on the heels of the Vivo V15 Pro, vivo Malaysia today revealed the not-less-enticing V15 to Malaysian media today. The Vivo V15, flaunting its unique elevating 32MP selfie camera and triple camera system on the rear will open for pre-orders starting 16 March 2019. The device will hit retail channels officially from 23 March 2019 onwards, kicking off at Vivo’s Superday Sale that will happen at One Utama Shopping Centre.

The Vivo V15 follows the alluring lines and aesthetics of its “Pro” sibling – featuring stylish colour gradients and sleek 3D curves. You can select from a choice of understated blue/black hues or dramatic black/red tones.

The all-glass front is taken up by a 6.53-inch Full HD+ display that’s protected by Gorilla Glass 5, boasting an impressive 90.95 percent screen-to-body ratio.

The minimalist front fascia is thanks to the trick pop-up front camera that vivo calls aptly “front elevating camera.” As seen on the Vivo V15 Pro and the cutting-edge Vivo NEX before this, the front camera pops-up when you select selfie mode in the camera app. When not in use, it tucks neatly back into the chassis. It was an eye-catcher last year, but to be honest, is no less “lit” in 2019.

The front camera, of course, is no wimp by any measure. I mean, do we need a 32MP selfie camera? Vivo certainly thinks so. And packed hardware isn’t all you’re getting. There’s AI to turn make you pretty (or handsome) by smoothing and thinning your face; you can play with different portrait lighting effects for a more artistic touch.

On paper, the main camera system is mighty impressive too – you’ll get a 24MP f/1.78 main sensor with Dual Pixel Focus and large 1.28 micron pixel size. This is coupled with an 8MP AI Super Wide-Angle camera and a 5MP depth camera to capture different types of moments and environments. It’s a shame there’s no telephoto thrown into the mix, but the ultra-wide lens is certainly useful.

Under the hood, the Vivo V15 runs an octa-core MediaTek P70 processor running at 2.1GHz, mated to a generous 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

The device comes with a large 4,000mAh battery and vivo’s Dual-Engine Fast Charging.

It runs Funtouch OS based on Android 9 Pie.
