Verizon 4G LTE iPhone4 Coming After Xmas?

It’s unverified thus still absolutely a rumour (although it’s a pretty credible source), but Verizon is set to roll out a 4G (Long Term Evolution) LTE iPhone4 some time after Christmas. This could be bigger than kissing under a mistletoe. According to sources of  MacDailyNews, Verizon 4G iPhone4 will be available direct from Verizon on the day it’s announced, and will be marketed as “the only LTE iPhone”. The phone will be multi-band, supporting both 4G and backward compatible with regular CDMA.

As you may have known, Verizon rolled out its 4G LTE service recently, covering 38 markets and 60 major airports including Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and LA. Verizon 4G LTE promises realworld speeds of 5-12 Mbps download and upload speeds of 2-5Mbps. Will be interesting to see how a Verizon iPhone affects iPhone’s overall market share in the US. AT&T has been a bane of frustration to US-based users (and also voted worst US carrier in recent polls), so a Verizon-based offering could be that refreshing, post-Christmas icing on the cake for some.

We’ll have to see don’t we? What do you think?
