Apple’s latest and greatest smartphone family is here – iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. For those not wanting to fork out full retail pricing for these babies, there’s always the alternative of subsidised options via telcos. U Mobile, which revolutionised how people bought iPhones in 2016, is back with new package deals with up to MYR1,350 in savings.
U Mobile is offering the full range of iPhones but is keeping things simple in bundled mobile plans this time around. It is offering both postpaid and prepaid but only the Unlimited Hero P99 postpaid and the Prepaid i40 plans.
The iPhone XS 64GB (RRP: MYR4,999) is offered at MYR3,799 with an upfront payment of MYR792. This is bundled with the P99 postpaid plan that gives you unlimited data, unlimited calls and text. It also gives you 3GB of Roam-Onz data and 30GB of dedicated hotspot data. The total amount payable upon registration is MYR4,591. The upfront payment is rebated over 24 months to your account.
If you’re looking to grab the iPhone XS with a prepaid plan, the device will set you back MYR4,305. You’ll need top up MYR159 to your account as well as make an upfront payment of MYR240 (rebated across 24 months to your prepaid credit). The total amount payable at registration is MYR4,704.
The i40 prepaid plan gives you a paltry 1.5GB of data per month, bundled with 1.5GB of Video-Onz streaming data, unlimited Music-Onz and Waze usage. You’ll get 40 minutes of calls to all networks and 20 SMS to all networks. Plan validity is 30 days.
If you’re looking for a more affordable option, the iPhone XR is a good bet. The device price for the 64GB model is MYR2,499 (RRP: MYR3,599). What’s good is that there’s no upfront payment for eligible existing customers.
Unfortunately, U Mobile isn’t offering its UPackage device ownership plan with the new iPhones. However, you can still opt for an zero interest Easy Payment Plan (EPP).
