In conjunction with the activation of U Mobile‘s 3G Radio Access Network (RAN) sharing with Maxis, U Mobile has announced the introduction of a new variant to its popular Unlimited Mobile Internet (UMI) prepaid service. The UMI 18 prepaid plan provides quality service, free calls, free SMS and unlimited internet access.
At an affordable rate of just RM18 per month, subscribers can enjoy 250MB of data, 25 minutes of free calls to all networks, free 25 SMS to all networks and other exclusive benefits by U Mobile. Targeted at new smartphone owners, teenagers and students, the plan allows limitless mobile internet services without the high fees usually associated with it.
The young innovative telco first drew attention in the industry in April 2011 with its groundbreaking UMI 28 prepaid plan, giving users 500MB data, 100 minutes of free calls and 30 free SMS to all networks at just RM28. U Mobile is also the first and only prepaid mobile internet plan in the mark that offers free calls and SMS to all networks.
Unlimited data access (subject to fair usage policy) is provided even after they have exceeded allocated data quota.
The telco is offering incentives for users who switch to U Mobile using Mobile Number Portability (MNP) service. Switchers will be rewarded a free U Mobile prepaid SIM Pack that is preloaded with airtime and will also enjoy 15% bonus for every top up of RM30 and above for the first six months of their subscription.
The offer was made available to consumers on 25 September 2012 and will end on 31 March 2013.

U Mobile’s UMI service is an extension to its prepaid plan which provides users unlimited data access (subject to fair usage policy) even after they have exceeded the allocated data quota. The company wowed the mobile industry in April 2011 with its UMI 28 prepaid plan, offering users 500MB data, 100 minutes of free calls to ALL networks and 30 free SMS to ALL networks at just RM28.
