TNG Digital x Ar-Rahah Mosque: Making technology inclusive for Kampung Kerinchi community

Touch 'n Go Ar-Rahah

The Ar-Rahah Mosque in Kampung Kerinchi goes high-tech starting today, after the mosque and TNG Digital announced a partnership to enable donations and contributions through the Touch ‘n  Go eWallet. With QR code-enablement, visitors to the mosque can make contributions conveniently via their smartphones.

The objective of the partnership is to make technology inclusive for not just the Muslim community in Kampung Kerinchi, but the community at large.

The Ar-Rahah Mosque’s embracing of technology sets the stage for other mosques nationwide to adopt technology to improve their everyday operations and collections.

Touch 'n Go Ar-RahahThe gathering was graced by Mr Syahrunizam Samsudin, CEO of TNG Digital Sdn Bhd; Mr Khairul Haffiz b Abdul Halim, Head of Administration and Imam Lead of ar-Rahah Mosque; Yang Berhormat Fahmi Fadzil, Member of Parliament, Lembah Pantai; S.S. Dato’ Seri Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, Mufti Wilayah Persekutuan; Tuan Hj Mohd Ajib bin Ismail, Director, Jabatan Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (JAWI) and Datuk Dr Syed Mohammad Syed Kadir, Deputy Chairman of Ar-Rahah Mosque Committee.

The partnership isn’t just limited to mere QR-enablement. The year-long programme also encompasses empowering the youth, education, environment and entrepreneurship.

There are four key programmes that will be run throughout the year:

  • Generation 13 (G13): A special class for youths that focuses on perfection and the philosophy of Solat, namely the 13 Rukun Solat. It is the foundation for human capital development an is designed to build resilience, meet dynamic social challenges and create a balanced future leader.
  • Ar-Rahah De Hearty (Gotong-royong): Themed “Go Green: Clean Mosque, Clean Heart,” the programme covers outdoor activities like aerobics, gotong-royong, and treasure hunts as creative approaches to build a closer-knit community.
  • i-Entrepreneur: A series of entrepreneurship seminars that focuses on success stories of corporate figures, entrepreneurship challenges, product innovation, and the importance of using technology within the framework of Islamic Law.
  • Back to School: A CSR-based initiative touching on school preparations, motivational sessions, haircuts, circumcision, and the provision of school bags for children.

At the gathering, Syahrunizam Samsudin, CEO of TNG Digital Sdn Bhd said, “We want to make technology inclusive and help the community in Kampung Kerinchi through an easy and secure platform.”

Ustaz Khairul Hafiz from Ar-Rahah said that, “We need to be open to accepting technology as a means to improve ourselves and the community we live in. Through this programme with TNG Digital, we are helping to foster more balanced future leaders.”
