Team FBI Wins PETRONAS Switch for XTRA Road Challenge

PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad‘s “Switch for XTRA Road Challenge” came to an end recently, which saw Faizal FBI and his supporting team clinching the top spot. Team FBI beat out other contending teams of celebrities including Awal Ashaari, Scha Alyahya and Hanis Zalikha.

The 3-month long campaign which ran exclusively via the PETRONASbrands Facebook Page saw selected fans participating in assigned challenges alongside the celebrities in the nationwide race.  The Switch for XTRA Road Challenge is one of PDB’s marketing initiatives to reach it to its customers via online and on-ground channels — at the same time, educating them on PDB’s buffet of products.  The different challenges forced the teams to be creative and resourceful.

The teams headed by the celebrities kept their fans updated via videos and through social media.  Team FBI had to dig deep in one of the challenges which saw them drive down to Johor and convince the public to perform an exercise routine. In a short amount of time, they successfully gathered over sixty people and their feat eventually received the most support online.   Thanks to the rousing support, Team FBI came out winners and were presented with prizes worth RM10,000 during a special prize-giving ceremony hosted by the dazzling Daphnie Iking at The Club, G Tower recently.

Akbar Md Thayoob, Head of Retail Business Division of PDB’S said, “At PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad, we emphasize greatly on engaging with our customers and rewarding them for reinforcing PETRONAS’ position as the Brand of First Choice.”  A virtual race was organised to get fans to virtually “fuel” their favourite stars with PETRONAS PRIMAX 95 XTRA to the finish line. The race continued to the real road for participants to experience real world benefits of the F1-inspired fuel in terms of performance and savings.

Additionally, the public was encouraged to participate in a ‘Take the Challenge’ contest where they were rewarded for following the progress of the challenge proper. Four selected winners won RM100 PETRONAS gift cards each.  PDB was also delighted to announce the return of the highly-popular PETRONAS Coffee Break Campaign in conjunction with the Chinese New Year festive season.

The nationwide campaign will see free coffee and refreshments served to motorists who stop by any of the 33 participating PETRONAS stations along the major highways and trunk roads across Malaysia.
