Lenovo and NECP introduce LaVie ultraportables, lightest in the world

For those uninitiated, Lenovo and NEC Personal Computers (NECP) are joint venture partners in Japan and have been since 2011. At CES 2015, the two companies introduced two new notebooks that redefine lightweight computing. The Lenovo LaVie Z HZ550 is the lightest 13-inch notebook in the world, weighing just 780g while the Lenovo LaVie Z HZ750 takes the title of the world’s lightest 13-inch convertible PC at just 925g.

In a surprising (but much welcomed) move, Acer unveiled a purpose-built gaming notebook for the masses in October this year — the Acer Aspire V Nitro – Black Edition. The sleek, power-packed notebook, IMHO, is one of 2014’s best surprises.
