A day before the annual Computex Taiwan 2016, ASUS has revealed its latest ZenBook 3 – a svelte, all-metal ultrabook that goes head on with Apple’s MacBook and MacBook Air.
Carved out of aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, it measures just 11.9mm thin, and tips the scales at only 910g. Yes, lighter and thinner than the MacBook and MacBook Air.
It’s not just about form factor though, because it also packs a powerful Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM and up to 1TB of PCIe 3.0 x4 SSD. ASUS claims the ZenBook 3 is “two times faster than the MacBook.”
The ZenBook 3 boasts 9 hours of battery life on a single charge. It charges via USB Type-C that supports fast-charging. A 60% charge takes just 49 minutes.
Its edge-to-edge gold backlit keyboard looks good. The 11.9-inch IPS display is protected by Gorilla Glass 4, and has an incredible 82% screen-to-body ratio.
