Sony Ericsson certainly have been busy churning out Android devices of late. At CommunicAsia 2011 today, they’ve launched two new Android phones – Xperia active and Xperia ray. The Xperia ray is powered by snappy 1Ghz single-core processor and runs the latest Android Gingerbread OS 2.3. Visually, the Xperia ray resembles the Xperia X10 and also takes some design cues from the stunning top-of-the-line Xperia Arc (yums!). While not as thin as the Arc, the 9.4mm thin Xperia ray still has a impressive side profile. The phone comes with an 8.1MP camera with Exmor R for mobile and HD video capable, VGA-capable front-facing camera, a scratch-resistant 3.3″ TFT screen (854 x 480 pixels) powered by the Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA engine, and the Sony Ericsson’s snazzy Timescape UI. It will be available in four colors, black, gold, white and pink.

Aside from the impressive hardware features, Sony Ericsson features pretty unique integration of social networking tools like Facebook inside Xperia .

Sony Ericsson Xperia ray will be available globally in selected markets, including Japan, from Q3 2011 and is expected to be priced below $500 (RM1,500).
