Apple has made the latest major iOS 7 update available globally today, September 18 (GMT). If you’ve attempted to be one of the first to download and have encountered download errors, you are certainly not alone. We were downloading a 649MB update for the iPad 2 when it failed halfway through.
As with all major updates, there are tonnes of people trying to simultaneously download the update causing Apple servers to overload.
Fret not, you can try again later. For those who can’t wait, you can also download IPSW packages from iClarified or Is the Apple Store Down and install them manually.
iOS 7 is considered the biggest overhaul of the iOS since the original iPhone. It features a beautiful new UI and contains hundreds of new features and enhancements including Control Center, AirDrop, iTunes Radio; and improvements to Notification Center, Multitasking, Camera, Photos, Safari, Siri and much more.
Good luck!
