When vivo introduced the vivo V5 late last year, it claimed the selfie camera crown, beating its cousin OPPO’s “Selfie Expert” range. This is thanks to its massive 20MP front-facing camera and fancy beautification features.
Today, the Chinese smartphone maker launched the vivo V5s – an enhanced version of the original.
The vivo V5s is essentially the same all-metal vivo V5 but with bigger storage. As a quick refresher, the sleek exterior houses a 5.5-inch HD IPS with 2.5D glass.
It’s powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 CPU mated to 4GB of RAM and uprated 64GB of storage. There’s of course microSD support if you need more storage for your high-res selfies.
If you loved the vivo V5’s selfie camera, then you’ll love the one on the V5s. Because they’re exactly the same – a Sony-sourced IMX376 20MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture lens. It comes with a soft light flash and new Face Beauty Mode 6.0 software. Perfect selfies assured.
On the back, the rear shooter is a 13MP unit with PDAF.
The dual-SIM device packs a 3,000mAh battery.
On the multimedia front, it boasts an AK4376 HiFi FAC for a satisfying aural experience.
It runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, with Funtouch 2.6 OS on top.
Pricing and availability
The vivo V5s retails for MYR1,299, and comes in Gold, Rose Gold and Black.
