Samsung to reveal a “bigger Galaxy S7” at MWC 2017

Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 MWC 2017

It’s confirmed that Samsung will not be revealing its Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017) in February. However, the electronics giant isn’t going to be empty-handed in Barcelona. Based on the official press invite for its press conference at MWC, Samsung looks to roll out a brand new tablet – Galaxy Tab S3.

Recent leaks claim the tablet will feature similar internals with the current Galaxy S7 smartphone. This includes the powerful Snapdragon 820 SoC bundled with 4GB of RAM, a 9.6-inch QXGA AMOLED display (2048 x 1536 pixels) and 12MP rear/5MP front cameras.

The Galaxy Tab S3 will come in two variants – Wi-Fi only SM-T825, and the LTE+Wi-Fi version SM-T820.

The device will run Android 7.0 Nougat, which will feature native split-screen support.

Unlike the rumoured Galaxy S8, the Galaxy Tab S3 will still feature a physical home button.

Tablet popularity has taken a deep dive in recent years, but isn’t a segment for Samsung to ignore. It is, after all, sitting at #2 position behind leader Apple in the tablet race.

The Samsung Press Conference happens at 7PM (CET), 26 February 2017 at MWC 2017. I hope to be bringing it to you live from Barcelona then. Stay tuned.
