Samsung Galaxy Studio pops up in the heart of Bukit Bintang

Samsung Galaxy Studio

The iconic Samsung Galaxy Studio pop-up experience centre, is now in Malaysia. What better way for fans and consumers alike to touch-and-feel the latest Samsung devices including the new flagship Galaxy Note8 smartphone, Gear VR with Controller, and the new Gear 360. Located in Jalan Bukit Bintang, the Galaxy Studio will be open for three months before it moves on to the next exotic location.

It’s not the first time I’ve seen the Galaxy Studio, having spotted them in Barcelona, Tokyo, New York and more. In fact, it’s been at iconic locations like the Westfield Parramatta in Sydney, Stockholm Central Station, the Dubai Mall, Hong Kong’s Excelsior Plaza, and now at Kuala Lumpur’s golden triangle.

Galaxy Studios have, to date, attracted almost 900,000 visitors globally.

Among the main highlights of the Galaxy Studio include experiences surrounding the new Galaxy Note8. As you enter through the glass doors, you’ll be greeted by two “smart tables.”

The table comes with a display that automatically connects (via Wi-Fi) and recognises the Galaxy Note8 and demonstrates its features.

The other table shows off Bixby, Samsung’s intelligent interface. Bixby interprets information from users’ surroundings and shares useful tips e.g. where to grab good coffee, etc. It also features Samsung Connect, a smart network that connects the Galaxy Note8 to other devices to simplify day-to-day tasks.

Another fun experience is called Liquid Canvas, that showcases the Galaxy Note8’s IP68 dust- and water-resistance.

Next, visitors can get a hands-on with the S Pen at the S Pen Gallery. They can doodle and decorate their own selfies, then have them featured on the Samsung Frame TV that’s mounted at the Galaxy Studio.

Only available at select Galaxy Studios, the 360 Snow Globe booth is a cylindrical room filled with artificial snow, illuminated by captivating lights and patterns. Visitors can capture every angle of their experience in 4K 360 degrees using the Gear 360. They can then share the photos with their friends and family.

If you’re a fan of VR, get a 4D experience with the 4D Sway chair, powered by the Gear VR with Controller. Get into the thick of the action with the Galactic Attack VR Coaster 4D experience, blasting alien ships in an epic space battle.

All-day swiping on screen makes Jack a dull boy. So work up a sweat at the Galaxy Fitness station. Strap on the Gear Fit2 Pro, and play a virtual game of cycling. Kinetic sensors detect your movements, while the Gear Fit2 Pro tracks your activity and heart rate.

Aside from the fun-filled activities, the Galaxy Studio is a great place to really get a hands-on with the latest devices, and get the latest info from dedicated customer solutions personnel at the store.

And by the way, I got a sneak peek of the new Gear Sport smartwatch and latest Gear IconX wireless earbuds. They look great. Coming soon to Malaysia.
