Samsung Unpacked is just a day away, when the Galaxy Note7 will make its big debut in New York. Leaks have been aplenty, and the flagship phablet looks to extend its dominance. Samsung has released the first official teaser video of the device, giving us a taste of its features, without actually showing the phone in full glory.
Security is the first thing that the video touches on, complicated passwords to be exact. Aside from the fingerprint sensor that’s built into the physical home button, the Note7 is going to rock an iris recognition feature. How well will this work in the real world? We’ll see in a day or two. The only other phones I’ve seen with an iris scanner is the ZTE Axon Elite and Microsoft Lumia 950/950 XL.
Moving on, it’s about selfies. Based on available information, the Note7 will share the same 12MP f/1.7 Dual Pixel rear camera and 5MP f/1.7 front camera that are on the Galaxy S7/S7 edge. So, it’s going to be good.
The Note7 also hints at new translation features, invoked from the S Pen.
A much loved feature on the Galaxy S7/S7 edge is the dust- and water-resistance capabilities. The Note7 will feature water-resistance, as demonstrated on the video.
Finally, the video ends with a series of numbers. No points guessing what they mean.
