The most affordable smartphone with a 90Hz display is in Malaysia. The mid-range realme 6 also rocks a quad-camera system and a big battery for less than MYR800 (for a limited time!).
Pricing and availability
The official retail pricing for the realme 6 is MYR999 and it’s offered with a single configuration—4GB RAM with 128GB of storage. The device comes in either Comet White or Comet Blue.
The good news is that the device will go on sale online starting this coming Friday, 27 March 2020. Lazada (it’s their 8th birthday sale) is offering the new mid-range champion for a special “flash sale” price of MYR799.
Limited stocks will be available and you can attempt to cash in from 12AM to 2AM on 27 March.
Other realme devices offered for special prices during Lazada’s 8th Birthday Sale include:
- realme XT (8GB RAM + 128GB storage) – MYR1,399
- real C3 (3GB RAM + 32GB storage) – MYR499
- realme X2 Pro (12GB RAM + 256GB storage) – MYR2,399
As a refresher, the headline feature of the realme 6 (including the realme 6 Pro which isn’t coming yet) is the 90Hz 6.5-inch Full HD+ display. This feature is usually found on a flagship or more expensive devices and should translate to a better gaming experience.
In the optics department, the realme 6 gets a quad-cam setup comprising a 64MP f/1.8 main shooter, 8MP f/2.3 ultra-wide-camera, 2MP (4cm) macro camera, and a 2MP monochrome camera. Over on the front, there’s a 16MP punch-hole camera on the top left of the display.
Under the hood, the realme 6 gets a MediaTek Helio G90T (the Pro, on the other hand, get the stronger Snapdragon 720G chip) and as mentioned comes in a single variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
Keeping things juiced is a 4,300mAh battery that supports 30W VOOC 4.0 fast-charging via USB-C.
Overall, a rock-solid device and should appeal to gamers on a budget.
