When you buy the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8/8 Plus, you’re not just buying a phone

(PRODUCT)RED iPhone 8

It’s official. As leaked earlier, Apple has released the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition today. Both feature beautiful, red glass exterior with a matching aluminium band, and the front is now the right colour: black. The special edition iPhone will be available to order online in select countries (including Malaysia) and regions tomorrow, 10 April and in stores starting Friday, 13 April 2018.

The (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition iPhones are everything you love about the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. From the stunning Retina HD display, powerful A11 Bionic chip and top notch cameras. The new crimson duo is better than the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus versions though, which previously featured a white front.

Apple has been a long-time supporter of the (RED) initiative, and it has committed to the AIDS fight since 2006. The Cupertino company has donated more than USD160 million to the AIDS Global Fund to date, which translates to more than 800 million days of lifesaving ARV medication that prevent the transmission of HIV from mothers to their babies. Apple is the organisation’s biggest corporate donor.

All (PRODUCT)RED purchases help to provide testing, counselling and treatment for tens of millions of people living with HIV/AIDS.

The Global Fund uses 100 percent of donated money to finance HIV/AIDS programmes. The contribution directly helps people affected by HIV in Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zambia.

You can also make a direct donation to the Global Fund.
