OPPO makes an about turn, brings OPPO R7 flagship to Malaysia

OPPO R7

When OPPO decided not to bring the flagship R7 smartphone together with the R7 Plus and R7 Lite in July, many were baffled and disappointed. Well, here’s some good news. OPPO has reconsidered, and is officially bringing the R7 flagship to Malaysian shores on 12 August 2015.

The OPPO R7 is one of the hottest smartphones in China. Over one million units of the R7 has been sold since July 2015. OPPO has the opinion that the R7 is primed for the RM1,298 to RM1,998 price segment.

Carved beautifully in a full metal unibody, the R7 measures a supermodel slim 6.3mm. It sports a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED screen that pushes out 445PPI. The 2.5D curved screen looks fantastic, and is comfortable to handle with one hand.

It shares similar underpinnings to the R7 Plus and R7 Lite – powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip mated to 3GB RAM. It gets 16GB of storage, supporting microSD expansion.

The excellent 13MP rear camera is based on ISOCELL image sensor technology coupled with a Scheider-Kreuznach certified lens. The front will deliver some sharp selfies, integrating an 8MP Golden Angle front-facing camera.

The R7 series runs the sleek new ColorOS v2.1 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

Pricing and availability

The OPPO R7 will be revealed on 11 August 2015, and will be available in stores on 12 August.

The R7 Plus and R7 Lite are selling at RM1,998 and RM1,298 respectively. Pre-order the R7 Plus online or offline for special offers.
