OPPO A93: Everything you need to know

OPPO A93

OPPO has launched a new addition to its A Series smartphones—the OPPO A93. Sticking to its DNA of photography-centric smartphones, the OPPO A93 packs six AI-powered portrait cameras.

OPPO also didn’t hold back in other areas, packing 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (expandable to 512GB via microSD) out-of-the-box, complemented by the MediaTek Helio P95 processor.

The large 6.43-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED Display boasts a 90.7 per cent screen-to-body ratio.

The display houses two mini front-facing cameras within punch-holes; each camera measuring just 3.7mm in diameter, one of the smallest cameras in its segment.

The device weighs just 164g and measures 7.48mm thin with a body that is fingerprint-resistant treated with what OPPO calls the “Shiny Matte texture.” The optical coating technique increases the coating’s depth from 250nm to 400nm which accentuates the light’s refraction.

The phone comes in two colour options – Matte Black and Metallic White.

Keeping things juiced is a 4,000mAh battery that supports 18W Fast Charge. The phone comes with AI Night Charging technology that uses machine learning to track your sleep habits. It charges to 100 per cent upon the moment you wake from slumber. This feature helps to prolong the battery lifespan by avoiding continuous charging after reaching 100 per cent charge.

In terms of optics, the OPPO A93 is equipped with a quad-cam system comprising a 48MP f/1.8 main shooter, an 8MP f/2.2 wide angle lens, and two 2MP f/2.4 monochrome cameras.

On the front is a dual-cam setup with a 16MP f/2.4 main camera paired with a 2MP f/2.4 depth camera. It comes with a dual lens bokeh feature that’s available for both still photography and video.

For shooting portraits in low light conditions, the OPPO-exclusive AI Night Flare Portrait feature combines both bokeh and low-light HDR algorithms in its rear camera.

Other features include AI Super Clear Portrait and AI Super Night Portrait.

The camera is also capable of capturing a 108MP image through software optimization.

The OPPO A93 runs the latest ColorOS 7.2 based on Android 10.
