Perhaps the world’s worst-kept secret in smartphones, even more details of Galaxy Note9 flagship smartphone have emerged. Only this time it’s from the most unlikely, unexpected source – Samsung themselves. You see, Samsung New Zealand mistakenly published the full intro video for the Galaxy Note9 to YouTube. It’s been taken down, of course, but not before the folks at SamMobile could save a copy.
The 30-second video bares all, well, at least the key features of the flagship device. The start of the video showcases the full view of the device’s back. It reaffirms all that we know – design-wise, it would be pretty much a Note8 shell. The placement of the fingerprint sensor is no longer in the awkward position it was on the Note8 (beside the horizontal camera array), now located below the dual-camera system.

The video also showcases the USB Type-C port at the bottom, single speaker grille, headphone jack and S Pen silo.
The big change possibly is the S Pen. The video spends a little more time here, showcasing the all-new pen. It’s been redesigned, now in striking yellow, with the clickable top button in blue. Samsung is said to integrate Bluetooth connectivity with the S Pen, which suggests new capabilities for the proprietary stylus. Remote control? Gaming? Pointer? Who knows.
As leaked and teased previously, the Galaxy Note9 will get a bigger 4,000mAh battery. The video boasts the Galaxy Note9 having “all day battery life.”
The final highlight is storage. The Galaxy Note9 will come with up to 512GB of onboard storage, and the video indicates “1 terabyte ready with expandable memory.” The video shows a 512GB microSD card being inserted into the phone.
Being a short intro video, no other details were revealed. However, what’s in the open is that the device will be powered by the Exynos 9810 chip (or Snapdragon 845), the same processor that drives its predecessor. The 512GB storage version will feature 8GB of RAM and the device will retain the 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infinity Display.
As leaked on Lazada Malaysia, the device may be priced at MYR4,299 and MYR5,099 for the base 128GB model and 512GB model respectively.
The Galaxy Note9 will be unpacked on 9 August 2018.
