Call centres aren’t new. And certainly not something you’d talk about. However, you’d come to realise that they’re actually quite an integral part of our daily lives as well as business. From customer support to sales and marketing, call centres are the underlying platform that drive these services.
That said, call centres are expensive. They require significant capital investment, and subsequent operating expenses can be substantial. Aside from outsourcing, of course.
For small medium enterprises (SMEs), cost is a crucial factor and setting up a call centre isn’t always a viable option.
Here’s where a startup called Omni comes in. Backed by Digi, Omni is an enterprise-level virtual phone system that’s cost effective and uncomplicated to set up. The cool thing is, all you need is a smartphone and the Omni app.
Omni offers everything an SME would need: a virtual assistant, call redirection, voice messages and even outgoing SMSes.
There are three plans to pick from depending on your requirements.
The entry-level Basic plan costs MYR60 per month which give you one fixed line number, two extensions, two virtual assistants, unlimited incoming calls and free five outgoing SMSes. Outgoing call rates are pegged at MYR0.15 per minute.
The mid-level Plus plan is priced at MYR100 per month and includes one fixed line number, three extensions, two virtual assistants, unlimited incoming calls, free 100 outgoing call minutes and free 50 outgoing SMSes. The outgoing call rate is MYR0.10 per minute.
Finally, the top rung Pro plan will set you back MYR200. It includes two fixed line numbers, 20 extensions, two virtual assistants, unlimited incoming calls, free 500 outgoing call minutes, free 200 outgoing SMSes with a call rate of MYR0.10 per minute.
Note that each extension can support 50 numbers.
In a nutshell, here’s what Omni can do.
With your very own local fixed line number, you’ll be able to receive calls on your mobile phone. You can also forward these calls to another number. Calls are recorded and call activities can be tracked and managed via the Omni dashboard.
You’ll also be able to track your missed calls, read your voicemails and recorded calls via the app.
A handy feature is the ability to set up a custom greeting. This is a pre-recorded message that would then give your callers option on which department they would like to get in touch with.
For instance, it could be like “Press 1 for Sales, Press 2 for Support, Press 9 to forward to voicemail.” See how it works here.
Another cool feature is voicemails are automatically transcribed before they’re delivered to you. So, as an alternative to listening to your voicemails in your email, you can also read them.
There’s plenty more, you can read about them here.
Omni offers a 30-day guarantee and the service is strictly no commitment, no contract.
